ALLIGATORHabitat: Swamp Seeks Out: Rotting logs Diet: Carnivorous Size: Medium Description These great lizards can far surpass a man in length and weight, and even those of average size are bigger than a large dog. Because of their size, they are often regarded by the ignorant as unnatural creatures, or even dragon-spawn. Such talk is idle superstition. The alligator dwells in the swamps and bogs, and one at rest can easily be mistaken for a floating log. Alligators fear humans, but may attack if surprised or angered, and such is the power of their great jaws that they can take a strong man's arm with a single bite. Their meat is considered a great delicacy among some, though I have never acquired the taste for it. |
