ARMOR
Armor: Bone
Fashioned from the bones of dead humans, bone armor is relatively heavy but provides a great deal of protection and adds an element of goulishness to your appearance which may cause many to think twice before attacking. However, bone is somewhat brittle, and armor fashioned from it is therefore a bit less durable than that fashioned of metal or leather. Bone armor isn't generally sold in shops, although there is a chance you may encounter someone willing to sell you some. Otherwise, dungeons and treasure piles are the best sources for this type of armor. |
Armor: Chain Mail
Chain mail puts metal between you and an enemy's weapon. It isn't as protective as plate armor, but it's lighter and cheaper. Good for strong fighters who travel great distances or carry equipment. |
Armor: Leather
Plain leather armor is the least protective of armor types. It is very light and cheap, and may be very useful to those who prefer to avoid heavy fighting. |
Armor: Plate
Armor made of hammered metal plates offers the most protection. However, this armor is very heavy and not for the weak-bodied or weak spirited. (It is very tiring to run in plate metal armor and it also reduces the wearer's dexterity.) |
Armor: Ring Mail
The metal rings on this armor are larger than the rings of chain mail armor. This makes it a cheap alternative to chain mail, but then it offers a little less protection and a little less durability as well. |
Armor: Studded Leather
The leather of this armor is reinforced by metal studs, particularly on exposed areas like the arms. It offers greater protection and durability than plain leather, but can weigh twice as much. |
Armor: Helmets
In addition to a bone armor mask, plate armor helmet, chainmail coif and leather cap, several helmets can be found throughout Britannia. These include bascinets, closed helms, open-faced helmets, helmets offering protection for the nose and cheeks and orc helms. |
